Wells-Next-The-Sea is situated on the North Norfolk Coast and is a popular seaside town for people trying to escape the rat race for a few days and take in the salty sea air. It's a town somewhat lost in time with bright penny arcades, shops selling sticks of multi coloured rock and a couple of award-winning fish and chip shops all vying for people's attention along the bustling seafront. It's a working town. Many locals not connected with the tourist trade make their living from the sea, and fishing boats can be seen chugging in and out of the small port on a regular basis. It's a great place for some street photography, from capturing children's expressions as they try crabbing on the quay for the first time, to the many rusting trawlers and lobster pots scattered along the waters edge. A coastal path runs through the town and takes visitors down towards the sandy beach half a mile away and the many vibrantly coloured beach huts that can be found there. All along the path, thousands of neon blue Viper's Bugloss wild flowers jostle with the red poppies and pink Common Mallow, trying to catch the attention of busy bees during the long, warm summer months.

Seabird calls and the soft clanging of boat sails on masts punctuate the clear air, and the sound of sea shanties drift on the soft breeze. Bric-a-Brac shops and independent craft outlets sit side by side along the narrow and bustling pedestrian high street and fresh local farm produce is beautifully displayed in shop windows, all the while trying to tempt the holiday maker and visitor into parting with their hard earned cash.

People leave the town with a sense of well being and their batteries recharged, ready for the return to their hectic schedules. But the thought of clean sea air and a slower pace of life will have them returning once again to the little seaside town by the name of Wells-Next-The-Sea, a quirky little place lost in time, somewhere along the North Norfolk Coast...
